Roon freezes when opening some artist pages (PC)

Description of Issue

Hello,

Very strange bug I have since this afternoon : Roon (on WIN 10 PC) will become unresponsive if I try to open some (not all !) artist pages and I have no other option than to close the program via the task manager. It only happens on my desktop PC. My tablet, phone and laptop connected to the same core don’t have this issue.

Strange ? Yes, but even stranger when you know it does not happen when I go full screen ! So, I wonder if it has something to do with the latest nVidia drivers that I installed ? Because that’s the only thing I did on my PC today.

Things I tried which didn’t make a difference:

rebooted my PC
rebooted the core (ROCK on intel NUC)
Reinstalled Roon
Cleared the image cache

I don’t want to be using Roon full screen all the time though so I hope there’s a solution.

I am having a similar problem, but it’s the other way around for me. If I click on certain band members when the main window is maximized, Roon is hanging.

See attached pictures. If I click on “Mihai Cernea” when the window is not maximized, then the list of credits gets displayed fine, but if I do the same with the window maximized, it just hangs and keeps on using a lot of CPU. I let it running for about 15 minutes max but nothing happened so I had to kill it.

Ok, for me it’s fixed. When not in fullscreen, I simply resized the Roon application window slightly, and voilà, no more freezes when clicking on an artist name.

It must be related to some screen resolution or window size variable that wasn’t set properly, and by resizing Roon that variable was reset.

In your case, I would try to temporarily change the resolution of my screen, go full screen and see if the fixes it.

Changing the resolution solves the problem but when I come back to my usual resolution and maximize the window it hangs again.
A workaround for me too was to use a smaller window size, not maximize it completely but make it big enough in order for the left navigation pane to fit, which was the reason I was keeping it maximized to begin with. With this new size it’s working fine and I can use it like this until this gets properly fixed (assuming that anyone will bother to look into it if no one else is complaining )
