Description of Issue

Hi,
I am a lifetime member. On the last MS Windows update, my Roon is faulty. The PC monitor is frozen, yet the app functions via my iPhone Roon remote.

I deleted Roon from my dedicated music PC and reinstalled it. It worked fine with my monitor. Then I closed and reopened Roon on the PC, and it froze again.

What do I do???

Thanks,
Greg

Hello @Greg_Trubowitsch ,

Can you please try the below procedure to see if it temporarily solves the issue without reinstalling Roon?

  1. Close Roon

  2. Navigate to: C:\Users(username)\AppData\Local\Roon\Database\Registry\Client\

Note: It may require enabling “show hidden files and folders” to see this.

There you should see the file: saved_window_pos.

  1. Rename this file to saved_window_pos.old, restart your computer, and launch Roon then try to duplicate your issue.

Let us know if this doesn’t resolve the issue for you.

Thanks for advice.

I did it all and that did not alter the situation.

What next?

Thanks.

Greg

@Greg_Trubowitsch, are your video drivers up to date after the Windows update?

Robert,

Yes, my video drivers are up to date.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks,

Greg

What are the display settings (resolution/scaling) that you are using on that PC?

PS, rather than post photos of your monitor, you can post screenshots directly to the forum…

Hello @Greg_Trubowitsch ,

Apologies for the delayed response here, I was doing a review of cases from last year and I noticed we missed your post here. Are you still having this issue even on the latest Roon version or has there been an improvement?
