Describe the issue

Roon gets stuck finding Roon server

Describe your network setup

ARRIS SURFboard SB8200 DOCSIS 3.1 Gigabit Cable Modem; TP-Link 8 Port Gigabit Ethernet Network Switch; Google mesh router,

This is the exact issue I am having, Roon Support.

Hey @dcw96161,

Thanks for taking the time to write in!

What happens if you select ‘Select a different Roon Server’? Are you able to connect to your Roon Server afterwards?

If not -

Can you test out hardwiring your Roon Server machine to your primary router, bypassing all network gear temporarily?

I’d ask the same steps for you @Tom_Zappala although I suggest creating your own support thread for proper tracking purposes as well. :+1:

Neither makes any difference.

It’s been working with no problem…Until I stopped using it for a while. Like 6 months. At first it powered right up, but only for one evening.

It’s a ROCK setup on a NUC.

I do have my own separate support thread regarding this identical issue and we are getting nowhere. It seems patently obvious this is software related, not hardware or networking related. That said, I can appreciate you trying to rule out obvious things before progressing this issue to the appropriate software development team members.

Any other ideas?

Hello @dcw96161 ,

Can you please try to turn the unit on and check to see if you can access the Web UI? If you’re able to access the WebUI, try to perform an OS Reinstall to update to the latest Roon Version. Also, if you have IPv6 you may want to try to see if having IPv4 only helps.
