Where are you storing your database backups, can you post a screenshot? When you say it hangs, does it start running and cannot complete the backup, never starts the backup, or crashes your Core?

Thanks for the reply! It hangs during snapshotting the database (runs indefinitely until I force quit), but only on scheduled backups!? Meaning, if I do a forced backup, it snapshotts the database for a normal period of time (a few minutes) and the backup completes.

This started after I upgraded to OS 14.0

Thanks @houstonperry. Does Roon scan your entire “Music Files SSD” drive for your music library, or only subdirectories within the SSD? Backing up to your music library directory will cause problems with the backups and potentially your music library.

Robert, thank you for that information. Roon was set to only scan subdirectories, but given your feedback, I’ve changed my backup location to another drive that Roon does not scan at all.

I’ll see if that solves it.

Thank you!

Hi @houstonperry,

I wanted to check in on this thread to see if you still had issues after relocating your backups?

Let me know, thanks!

Thank you for following up! Yes, this issue has persisted after relocating my backups to another location. I can run a “forced backup” without issue, but any scheduled backups hang at the snapshotting stage. Screenshot attached.

Hi @houstonperry,

Thanks for the update, and I’m sorry to hear the issue persists. If you could please reproduce the issue and share the specific date and time, that would be helpful.

And with that, if you’d like, we can enable diagnostics mode for your account, which will send over a set of logs from your Core device automatically, and then upload to our servers for analysis.

If you’d rather do it yourself manually, please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader.

Let me know, thanks!
