I removed (not disabled) all folders and re-added only one folder. Scanning seems to complete.
I removed all extensions.
Disabled background and on demand analysis.
I also verified privileges on the NAS’s folders
Followed Roon can no longer connect to Synology NAS - #10 by gTunes
Loop, disconnecting, no audio devices, etc etc continues.
What I however noted is that, if trying to add a new network share (ea Re-add the NAS) there is a message: There was an Unexpected error: UnexpectedError
This is a bit confusing - were you able to successfully re-add one watched folder? Either way, there is some odd behavior happening still, so lets refresh your Roon Server database next.
Make sure you have a recent backup saved, stop Roon Server, then find your RoonServer Database folder and rename it RoonServerDB_old and restart Roon Server. This should prompt a fresh database.
Freeing up significant NAS (CPU) resources by killing several node processes brought Roon back to life. File scanning and identification continues, Audio devices show up. UI is snappy and Roon no longer seems to be stuck in a restarting loop.
It will take a while to restore everything that was removed and altered in the troubleshooting process but happy that Roon came back to life (on my NAS). (I still have not found any solution why ROON showed the same behavior on MacMini 2014 when trying to run a server on there…)
Anyhow…now Im just eagerly awaiting Roons certification of my Eversolo DMP-A8
