Roon installation issue on Windows 11 - Server not responding (ref#N3U32H)

What’s happening?

· I'm having trouble logging in

Where are you having trouble logging in?

· I can't log into the Roon app

Describe the issue

I try to install Roon on my main PC (Window 11 home edition with the latest update) after the install, I try to login which redirected me to the browser page but, after it redirected back to the Roon program, I just stuck at the login page. I noticed that the Roon server icon in my tray showed status: not responding. After that I tried all the methods I could find on the support forum - reinstall Roon, rename roonserver folder and try fresh install, disable window antivirus and window firewall - nothing worked. It still said the server is not responding.
What's weird is that on my other PC ,which is on the same wifi network, the roonserver is running just fine with the same setup (wifi connection)

Describe your network setup

I use fiber internet which connect to my FiberHome SR1041Y router

Sometimes trying a different browser and making sure to allow pop ups have worked for me.

I had used microsoft edge, firefox, chrome, opera - all with no success. All of them had their popup block disable too

Hi @Parinya_Lokbow,
Welcome to the Community! As you only have one license you will not be able to run 2 Roon servers at the same time. You would have to deauthorize one server in order to use the other. We recommend choosing one server and sticking with it.

I already deauthorized from my second PC. the problem is the server won’t start on my main PC when I try to set it up as my roon server

Please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs from your Windows 11 to our File Uploader.

Just uploaded the log files to the File uploader

I’m sorry I should have specified that we need you RoonServer logs.

Sorry for the late reply
I just uploaded Roonserver logs as instructed

Thanks, we got them. My preliminary analysis shows that you are having unmanaged crashes every 31 seconds when RoonServer starts up. I will continue reviewing these and get back to you when I know more.

Since these crashes are happening so quickly after Roon starts lets try a complete refresh of Roon to see if we can get things working.

  • Exit out of Roon if it is running
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Find the folders that say “Roon”, RoonServer and RAATServer
  • Rename these folders to “Roon_old”, “RoonServer_old”, “RAATServer_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new versions of the folders you renamed
  • Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring a backup

If this doesn’t fix your issue can you please upload your event viewer logs. You can find event viewer by searching for it in the search bar. Once you’ve opened event viewer go to Action then click “export custom view”. This will prompt you to save the files somewhere. Once you’ve saved it you can zip it up and upload it to the same link you used for the logs.

I just uploaded the event viewer logs.
I assumed it’s administrative events logs right? Because I couldn’t find “export custom view” option anywhere else.

Yes you sent the correct thing. I’m looking into your logs now.

The steps in this article might be able to help you. https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/connectivity-issues-after-updating-to-build-1382

Have you ever changed the group policy settings on your computer?

I know you disabled the windows anti-virus but do you have any third party anti-virus installed?

No, I never changed the group policy setting as I am the only one using the PC
No, I don’t have any other third party anti-virus installed.

@Parinya_Lokbow we have figured out that the issue is likely coming from a calendar mismatch. Another user solved this by changing the Regional Format to English(World) on their Windows machine.
