Roon is a pointer, thats all, why can it have a page that points to favorites when you select favorites?

  1. Roon is a pointer, that’s all it does. If you select a favorite using the heart icon then there MUST be a pointer to a page where those favorites are organized and from where they can be played. Every music service that I use has this feature, but the supper structure of Roon somehow does not. Why have a favorites button if it does nothing?

  2. I want to be able to search Roon according to the music services and NOT search my library. Both of the above are so totally intuitive to any music system, I am amazed ROON can’t do this. If I want to search only Qobuz and not Tidal I should be able to do this. This is very simple stuff Roon ignores. You should be able to search my music format and resolution as well. My library has quite a bit of MP3’s which I want to ignore during searches. I can’t ,because ROON is so poorly developed.

You have just had a pointer to RTFM but here is a quick picture:

It does plenty of stuff. Roon is a database program at heart, so when you add a heart to a track in Roon (NOTE NOT ON A STREAMING SERVICE), you are adding a searchable tag to that database object; track, album, artist, etc.

You would then use the filter functions to sort on the heart of that object type. There was a pic of it for albums above. But, if you wanted a Favorited Track, you would go to the Tracks page and click on the heart there.

Please note, for example, Albums and Tracks are different objects. Hearting an Album DOES NOT heart all the tracks of that album, you are only hearting the album object. So, you need to filter the heart on the object type page you want.

Go to “Albums”. Click on the “Heart” icon above the albums grid. Click on “Bookmark” at the top right corner → add bookmark → type: My favorite albums. I made sure to have them sorted by “Most played” before bookmarking. Awesome. This is my best album playlist, self adjusting as seasons and music tastes changes over time.

Go to “Artists”. Click on the “Heart” icon above the artist thumbnails. Click on “Bookmark” at the top right corner → add bookmark → type: My favorite artists.

Go to “Tracks”. Click on the “Heart” icon above the tracks list. Click on “Bookmark” at the top right corner → add bookmark → type: My favorite tracks. I made sure to sort them by Last played before bookmarking. Awesome too.

Feature #2 would be somewhat cool.
