Roon is good enough

I’ve used some streamers like the aurender n100h lumin u1 mini and lumin u1. Just to make some cash for an integrated amplifier (gryphon Diablo 300) I sold all my streamers.
I had to use something to stream music to my dac so I end up using a battery powered win 10 laptop as a roon end point and I’m telling you that it sounds awesome. The aurender n100h was sold to a friend and I ask him to bring it to test against the laptop and we prefer the laptop
The laptop was wifi connected to a roon core connected via Ethernet in another room.
When the laptop is completely wireless is when the magic happens.
I think that zero ground loops is better than anything when using usb

Try a Raspberry Pi 4 running RoPIeee.

Why?
Im not trying to be sarcastic
Why would that be better?

Much easier (and cheaper) than fooling with a laptop as a streamer.

Battery powered raspberry pi
Interesting…

It doesn’t need to be battery powered. I made one of those but sold it.

It has to be battery powered
I had several raspberry pi and they sound ok but any dedicated streamer with a good psu sounds better
The point is to have zero ground loops. That’s the key

You can run it off a battery. I ran one of a phone power pack for 2 years. Can’t say it improved anything though.

I think installing Rock on a nuc from the supported list and putting it in an Akasa case serves me very well as a Roon streamer. Run another nuc in the server cabinet as Roon core.
