Audio File is include USB-HDD (USB 3.0) 8TBytes of made by Transcend Hard Drive.
Include wav and flac (44.1kHz) wav and flac (96kHz) wav and flac (192kHz) DSD(2.8M and 5.6M)
Total Audio File are 80,000 Files.

Network Details (Including networking gear model/manufacturer and if on WiFi/Ethernet)

Ethernet is Optical fiber line.
Rooter is SoftBank Optical.
WiFi is Useing for iPad and iPhone.

Audio Devices (Specify what device you’re using and its connection type - USB/HDMI/etc.)

I am Roon Beginner.
I am not good English, sorry.
I will use easy English only.
Roon is skip next song in the middle of the song.
It is very problem at me.
The Time , Error message at Japanese words.(Look at Upload Picture)
This is translate Japanese to English, of error message.

Try moving a few albums from the USB HDD to the C: drive, and see if playback from C: drive has the same problem or not.

Generally USB HDD has more speed than required. If your problem is really caused by the USB HDD, there may be something else occurring, such as:

  • Bad sector or HDD fault
  • Roon has not finished library scanning
  • Other apps on Windows
  • Malware on Windows
  • Windows indexing

If you have ruled out most of the above possibilities, then yes, this is the correct thing to do given your test result.

After changing to SATA HDD, let Roon complete the library scan first.

If changing to SATA HDD does not help even after Roon library scan completion, you should close all other Windows apps, do a malware scan on Windows, then disable Windows indexing.

I bought a SATA HDD 12TB yesterday.
And all the files have been copied from USB HDD to SATA HDD.
I needed 11 hours.

I started Roon, mounted the SATA HDD and unmounted the USB HDD.
Roon has completed the library scan.
There was no malware.
I disabled the Windows index and also disabled Cortana.

My problem happens with Sometime.
Let’s test it with Roon for a while.
I will test it for about 3 days to about 1 week.
I will report the result again.

One suggestion - while Roon is doing the initial import things can be a bit slow.

If you are importing a large amount of new content and are trying to use Roon at the same time, you may want to disable file analysis under Roon Settings -> Library - Background / On-Demand Analysis -> Throttled / Off

To confirm this, please run this with the USB HDD connected to Windows:

Get the SMART Info for the USB HDD, and export the SMART data for all attributes, post it here and I’ll check it for you.

This item is abnormal.

If you have any data in the USB HDD, back it up, then get a replacement if it’s still under warranty.

If the warranty expired, I’d not use it for any critical needs.
