Description of Issue

With music playing in the background, when I resume Roon is very slow to resume (freezes) and often crashes.

I have not had this problem before and it is making Roon pretty much unusable for me.

Hi @Ryan_Hodgson,

I would suggest updating the GPU drivers using the GPU manufacturer’s site.

I am also having this problem and am using the most recent NVIDIA drivers for my graphics card. This was never a problem until the last week or a bit more. Windows Event Viewer has logged an event each time a crash occurred, with the error reported in clr.dll or in every case as below:

Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\assembly\NativeImages_v4.0.30319_64\System.Core\e950876872d82f53f34ddb39c91b2d04\

Like Christian, I also have the latest GPU drivers and it started happening a few weeks ago.

It is a named feedback item on the latest build 931. Multiple observations concern the Windows - build. Latest graphics drivers and avoiding window minimization help temporarily.

I’ve been having this issue for months, it’s not due to the last build and I always have my graphics drivers updated. It’s an ongoing issue with Roon

For me it appears that build 933 may have fixed things. Have had no trouble with Roon crashing/hanging when it has been minimized or in the background since that version installed. Keeping fingers crossed!

Roon is basically useless for me, still lots of hangs and crashes. Nothing to do with my GPU drivers etc. Will be going back to Tidal at this rate, very frustrating…

This issue is still ongoing. It may work NOT minimizing roon, as this happens when roon gets focus again, producing either two of these results:

  • Roon freezing momentarily (about 10 secs)
  • Freezing and then crashing (closing)

Yeah, I can confirm that it does still happen. My finger crossing with build 933 did not do any good, alas.

I also have this issue, it started about the time this thread appears to have been posted. Mine does not crash, but freezes for 10-20 seconds. I updated my drivers, it was no help.

It also does not happen every time, and is not always minimized - however it does only happen if I’ve let Roon play for a decent period of time, then go back to pause it or skip a song, etc.

I realize my issue has a lot of variables so its probably not a big help from a development standpoint - but just adding on to the thread in an attempt to lend credence to the problem
