Describe the issue

I just purchased and downloaded an album from HDTracks. It's a 192kHz, 24bit flac album (Art Pepper Gettin Together). In the 7 tracks 3 are seen fine by Roon, but 4 are labeled as "I/O Failure". I tried re-copying the files to the music file share - with no improvement. I even deleted the files and re-downloaded them from HDTracks. Again no luck. 4 of the tracks are always labeled as I/O Failure. These 4 tracks play fine in foobar2000 and Windows mediaplayer. Why is Roon not able to play these files?

Describe your network setup

Roon server running on Windows 11 Pro (16GB RAM) with the files on a Synology NAS923. The network is on a wired 10Gb ethernet. This setup has been working fine for years and has over 800 albums that all play perfectly.

Not sure if your issue is really related to it, but there seem to be more posts about import errors lately.

I think I’ve cleared up this I/O Failure. I went to the Windows PC running the RoonServer and I saw a RAAT error window. I cleared that popup and then stopped and restarted the RoonServer process. After doing that all 7 of the album tracks were available and play fine.

I have the same issue since the last release.Every import results in one or more files with this error. Restarting the server results in some rescanning and ultimately correctly seeing the files. New import again results in error, restart “resolves” it.

@Henk_Van_de_Schoot, I recommend you create your own Support ticket here Support so Roon staff can assess and support you directly.
