Roon Labs devces fail to get an IP address after changing my ISP supplied EERO router

Roon Server Machine

Manufacturere: Roon Labs
Model: Nucleus Titan
OS: RoonOS 2.1 (build 271) production
Serial: 48210B6D2EA4
Hostname: NucleusTitan

Networking Gear & Setup Details

I changed my router from a failing Smart/RG router to the ISP supplied EERO. I requested the change because the Smart/RG would hang WiFi every few hours and/or hang completely requiring a power cycle.

My ISP is Sonic.net
Please note after connecting the EERO my lan configuration changed and there appears to be no way back. My concern is ethernet. WiFi works ok.

Connected Audio Devices

This is not relevant. I also have a GRIMM Mu1 and all aspects work using ti as the ROON server.

Number of Tracks in Library

Not relevant

Description of Issue

Both Roon Labs devces fail to get an IP address after changing my ISP supplied router

the knowledge base is not helpful (https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/eero-mesh-networks-with-roon) since apparently ISP configured routers do not give access to those settings.

I changed my router from a failing Smart/RG router to the ISP supplied EERO. I requested the change because the Smart/RG would hang WiFi every few hours and/or hang completely requiring a power cycle.

My ISP is Sonic.net

Apparently the lan network is configured by the ISP. My old router used a lan of 192.168.18 the EERO allows only a choice of
192.168.0.0/16 or 10.0.0.0/8 or 172.16.0.0/12

Roon clients on my 2 PCs and a kindle fire on WiFi work OK. My PCs offer to start a Roon which I expect will work fine. As I stated the MU1 works fine.

Please also note I have a GRIMM Mu1 that works fine: ie Boots into Roon Server using address 192.168.0.100. Roon Server works normally.

I also have an old 100MB TP-link router that also use the new 10.0.0.0 lan address and works withe everything except the Roon Labs devices.

My Roon Labs devices do not work on any of those choices. Please note I have several other ethernet connected devices (2 PCs) and they all work. I still have my NucleusPlus and it also does not work. WiFi works OK with the EERO.EERO router.

I hooked a monitor to an HDMI port on the Titan and watched the boot sequence. I cant do a screen grab but here I will copy manually

After Power on:

the screen flashes a message that is too fast for me to see but includes the message “now Booting”

screen blanks

The display settles on a boot message that includes:

Roon can be accessed … blahblah
blah blah

Roon OS web UI can be directly accessed at http://192.168.42.18/

That is all that appears.

Please note the IP address is the old address from the Smart/RG router.
I tried putting the Smart/RG back but apparently Sonic uses some clever configuration and the lan stays at 10.0.0.0

Hello @Dennis_Baker1 and welcome to the forum.

You can try and reset the network settings of your Nucleus:

This worked! Thank you!
