Hello @George_DiFerdinando,

Thank you for reaching out! Having the import spinner get stuck right at the finish line is definitely frustrating.

When the scanner hangs on just a handful of tracks like this, it usually means it has encountered a few files on your external drive that are corrupted, unreadable, or improperly formatted, causing the background scanner to loop endlessly.

As a first step, please try restarting your Roon Server to see if it clears the stuck queue or successfully skips those problematic files. Since you are running your server on a Mac Mini, you can easily do this from your menu bar:

  1. Look for the Roon Server icon in your Mac's top menu bar (up near the clock and Wi-Fi icons).
  2. Click the icon and select Quit Roon Server.
  3. Wait a few moments, and then relaunch Roon Server from your Applications folder.
Open your Roon Remote again and let us know if the spinner goes away after the restart. If it comes right back and gets stuck on those same 6 tracks, please let me know! We can pull your diagnostic logs to identify exactly which 6 files are causing the hang so you can remove or fix them.

Thanks for your rapid reply.

After reboot, it says ‘of 6 tracks, 6 tracks added, 0 identified’ and still spinning. How can I send you a log?

Hi @George_DiFerdinando,

To address the issue you’re experiencing, please navigate to the “Skipped Files” section found under Settings > Library in Roon.

This section should display any files skipped during the identification process. Adjust the metadata of those files, re-add them, and then restart your Roon Server.

Please let us know if this resolves the issue. Thanks!
