Every morning, Roon (ROCK) shows me a library loading issue. It wants me to restore from a backup.
But when I restart the server software via rock.local I can use Roon without problems – until the next day.
This issue started appearing after I reconnected my backup drive, which wasn't connected for many months. The error seems to be caused by the automated backup function, which always fails ("Backup failed at 2:29:48 / Error backing up database").
Thank you for your report. Diagnostic logging indicates that RoonServer’s automatic backup to a USB storage location fails due to insufficient memory on the drive itself.
Have you maxed out this external drive’s storage capacity? If not, I suggest connecting it to a desktop and running CHKDSK (Windows) or using Disk Utility (MacOS) to check the drive’s health and status.
If you change the target automated backup location you can likely work around the issue for now.
I recommend creating a reliable Backup to a separate location immediately in case Backups have become corruption from the OOM’s on the USB drive.
Thanks, Conner. The disk appears to be fine, but in fact it does not have enough free space left. Would be great if Roon could tell me this directly in the UI.
