Roon login loop on QNAP NAS preventing access (ref#GVQTRP)

What’s happening?

· Roon won’t start, update, or finish installing

Describe the issue

I have Roon installed on QNAP NAS and everything worked flawlessly for year. I have all latest updates installed. Roon screen also displays my media server as running correctly. However, since a few days I can no longer access Roon via my iPad/computer. It asks me to login, redirects me to roonlabs login page (my password works fine), then goes back to window/screen titled account/roon/app ("Roon Welcome back!") and ask me to confirm my account (moderated). When I confirm that the process repeats. I cannot get beyond this phase, so I can never 'really' login or access my Roon application/library.

Describe your network setup

TP Link router (AC5400X), QNAP NAS running official Roon app, all hard wired via ethernet cables.

Hey @gerwinpk,

Thanks for taking the time to write in and share your report!

Before anything else, if you haven’t, if you could please stop Roon Server from running, and then reboot your server machine, let me know if that helps.

If you still have issues, try:

  • Clearing the default browser’s cache and cookies

  • Temporarily changing your default browser

  • Checking to ensure that you don’t have popup or cookie blockers preventing the redirect

Thank you! :folded_hands:

Dear Benjamin,
Thanks for responding to my issue. My problem occurred while using the Roon app, so your browser tips were not applicable to my case. Nevertheless, after rebooting the NAS a couple of times, the app returned to life. It asked me to restore a backup which I did. Now it works again. Still don’t understand what triggered the problem in first place but for now it is solved.
Thanks and best,
G.
