Describe the issue

I’m running Roon on MacMini M1 with Tahoe 26.0.1. My sound unit is a Matrix X-SPDIF2 connected via usb.

The issue is that when I change song/album/artist Roon says it can’t initialize sound unit or Roon lost control over sound unit. It sometimes happens while playing a song. I then can’t play any songs unless I restart my Macmini.

I have given Roon all necessary permissions in privacy settings.

Describe your network setup

SP via fiber converter Router: Apple Aiport Extreme Mac Mini M1 connected via cat6 ethernet directly to router.

Hey @Ulf_Silbersky,

Thanks for taking the time to write in and share your report! The good news here is that what @BlackJack shared is correct - we have a fix over in our Early Access version of Roon, which should get added to our next full Production update.

You can either head over and follow the steps to install Early Access, or simply wait for the next Roon update, and your issues should be fixed. Thank you! :raising_hands:

Hi!

Thanks for your response. However, my issue is not related to switching sample rates. My issue also occurs when switching same sample rates.

Hello @Ulf_Silbersky,

Thank you for the update.

We’ve recently released an Early Access build that addresses most of the known issues related to macOS Tahoe:
:link: Early Access: RoonServer 2.56 (Build 1566) and ARC 1.70 (Build 371)

Would you kindly follow the instructions in the article below to join the Early Access program and check if the issue persists on that version?

Hi @Ulf_Silbersky,

The specific symptoms you’ve mentioned are consistent with a RAAT initialization problem on Tahoe.

If you’re not eager to migrate your Roon devices to the Early Access track to try the fix, you can simply wait for the next Roon update, which will contain the fix.

Thank you again for your patience. We understand this disrupts crucial basic functionality with Roon and the team is diligently working to ensure we resolve the underlying technical problem as soon as possible.

Here is the main tracking thread, where the team will be sharing all updates pertaining to this issue moving forward.
