Roon makes a drop playing megamixes (for example DMC-CDs) between the tracks

As you know, mthere are existing CDs with nonstop-Megamixes. In my library they are numbered as separate tracks, but the point is that it should play nonstop. Roon makes a pause after every track. Is there any option to realize a real nonstop-playing?

Can you provide more information about how you are playing these files back. If you play a classical piece like an opera, does Roon pause or play it gapless?

…oh, i’m not playing classical music. I’m using only simply the button “now play”

I think you misunderstood. I suggested as a test to play an album (other than your special megamixes) which also should play back gapless. Classical/Opera were just examples of something you could use. That way you could tell if the issue was any and all gapless playback, or, localized to these “megamixes”.

I have a lot of mix CD’s bith ripped and from Qobuz and they always play gapless for me. Could it be how you have these mixes ripped? There could be gaps baked into the files.

If they are mixed gapless on to cd or from purchase file then Roon wil play them as such. A badly ripped cd might have issues. What software did you use. Also what is your endpoint exactly, is it Roon Ready, Roon Tested?

Ripped with MusicBee. And MusicBee play gapless - no mistakes. The same database and the same tracks in roon only with gaps…I can’t understand that. The endpoint is an windows 11 -pc or denon home (room ready…).

Oh, sorry. I own only these megamix-Cds and no other gapless album.

Ripped it with MusicBee and MusicBee play gapless in the right way…But roon doesn’t - with the same database.

Can you play Misplaced Childhood by Marillion using Qobuz from the track entitled “Waterhole (Expesso Bongo)” onward. Does this play gapless? Use Play from here.

All gapless for me.

And, @Rolf_Kauke is this gapless for you, too?

What is your signal path? What model endpoint are you using?

Not all endpoints in Roon support gapless playback. But, as others have said, if the CD tracks are ripped gapless and you play to an endpoint that supports gapless playback then Roon will play gapless.

Thanks for all ansxers. That’s it: Marillion- CD plays gapless. So I ripped that MIX-CDs again, but in ONE track, not in different- and voila. This result is OK for me. Thank YOU ALL…

By definition, this approach will be gapless since there’ only one track and therefore no gaps. So, it’s not really a solution, but a workaround.

If Misplaced Childhood plays gapless, then other releases should, too. I wonder if the issue is with your ripper. What software are you using?

Incidentally, my original release of Misplaced Childhood has a brief negative count before each track, and if ripped incorrectly, would introduce gaps albeit it’s not been as issue with modern apps.

I’m using MusicBee for ripping. Which one are you using?

Couldn’t find any gapless specific ripping instructions or forum entries for musicbee, so my question:
Are there settings to en/disable gapless ripping when set to generate separate files, as opposed to one file, that you may have overlooked?

I run Linux, so use native tools. However, when I had a MacBook I used dBpoweramp. For Windows, you could try this (I think there is a trial) or EAC, which is free for non-commercial use.

EAC is the gold standard ripping tool on Windows.

dBPoweramp or EAC they always play gapless and offer the security of accurip as well.
It’s sounds like musicbee is doing something funky with drive offsets that itself is compensating for but nothing else will. A rip with the programs mentioned will guarantee gapless playback via on any device or server that supports gapless.
