When cancelling a Qobuz subscription on playlists in Roon with mixed files from Qobuz and Tidal (or vice versa), is there an automatic procedure to switch all files from Qobuz to Tidal and thus recreate a complete playlist on Roon with Tidal, for example?
Unfortunately, Roon does not have an automatic process to replace or migrate tracks from one streaming service (e.g., Qobuz) to another (e.g., Tidal) within playlists. When you cancel a Qobuz subscription, any tracks that come from Qobuz will become unavailable in Roon. Tracks from Tidal in the same playlist will still work normally.
If you’d like to rebuild the playlist using Tidal equivalents, there are a few manual or semi-automated options:
Use Soundiiz or TuneMyMusic
These external services can synchronize or convert playlists between Qobuz, Tidal, and others.
You can export your Qobuz playlists before canceling and then import them into Tidal.
Once imported, Roon will recognize the new Tidal versions the next time your Tidal library is synced.
Manual replacement in Roon
Open the playlist in Roon.
For unavailable Qobuz/Tidal tracks, use Roon’s search to find the same song on Tidal and add it manually.
So while Roon doesn’t switch the tracks automatically, using one of the above tools is the best workaround to recreate or preserve your playlists across services.
Since this is not a current feature of Roon, I would recommend also posting your suggestion in the Feature Suggestions section of the site. Our product team and developers keep a close eye on that category, so that’s definitely the best place to propose a change like this and get feedback from the Community.
