I am still facing the issue that the Home Assistant extension in Roon looses the connection when I restart the Home Assistant server:

I already installed the current version of the Roon module for Home Assistant. Has anybody an idea what else I can try to activate the extension permanently?

Issue is solved. I recreated the Roon Integration in Home Assistant. After this the Extension in Roon is active permanently.

So this was working well. After moving to new machine (NUC running Ubuntu, HomeAssistant in Hassio, now 95.4), the custom integration is now longer working, and this is the error message: “Config flow is not supported for custom integration roon”. Thoughts? Thanks.

Thanks for creating this! It’s working perfectly for me on my RPi with Hass.io. In fact, it works so well, I’m curious why it isn’t an official Hass.io add-on yet.

Is it possible to shuffle a playlist? I saw in this topic someone who had shuffling but did not want that. I now have this in my automation:

  • service: media_player.shuffle_set
    data:
    entity_id: media_player.woonkamer
    media_content_type: ‘playlist’
    media_content_id: ‘Beautiful Day’
    shuffle: ‘true’

but that does not work

I get a similar message from hass.io. I think it’s a benign reminder I’m running something that’s not officially supported.

Quick question, is there a way to populate an input_select list with your playlists from Roon in a dynamic way or do you have to add them manually?

Really love that this add on was as well developed as it is I’m just starting out in both Roon and HA and to be able to just toss this in so easily and start using it is great. Thanks for all your hard work @Marcel_van_der_Veldt

I’m not sure if this is a known issue or what but I couldn’t get playlist selecting to function and it turns out it was because my playlist was made under a user profile, when I set the playlist to “Shared (Visible to all profiles)” It began to function as expected.

Just wanted to point out that issue for anyone else who might be using profiles in Roon. I was pulling my hair out.

Thanks again for your work on this plugin. Could you let us know what your intentions are, with regard to submitting it to hass? I would like to give the plugin a try, and am wondering whether I should wait for hass integration or if I should take the time to learn whatever steps are required to get it going, separately.
