Description Of Issue
Imported my library of approx 20000 tracks into Roon
Some of my CD rips have the correct information set in the “Version” field (i.e.primarily the catalog number). Many of the rips have a value of “unknown” set in the “Version” field as I haven’t got around to updating all the tags yet so they were set to unknown.
In Roon, I like to see the version information displayed on the albums and have set Roon up accordingly. However, there are a significant number of albums in my library that now display “unknown”.
Consequently, I have removed the value of “unknown” from the metadata on all all those albums files on my NAS.
The problem is that even if I manually force a re-scan of the relevant folders via settings/storage Roon is not detecting the metadata change.
The only way I seem to be able to get Roon to detect the metadata change is manually going into each album in Roon and selecting edit/re-scan album. This then updates and the “unknown” tag is removed from the Roon display.
There are a significant number of albums which would take an age to go through one by one. Shouldn’t the force rescan as referenced above work?
Track Import Dates set as follows…
File creation time (was originally set as Roon import timestamp)
Use Importdate when present = yes (was originally set at no)
Thanks
