Recently Roon has become poor at finding releases that I know are on Qobuz. It does not seem to include them in the search results. Sometimes new releases take a few days to be recognised by Roon, that’s always been the case. I would go to Qobuz, ‘heart’ the album I wanted, and it would turn up in Roon shortly after. Now I search for works by, say, a particular composer and Roon shows only a few releases. When I go to Qobuz there are pages of releases by the same composer. If I ‘heart’ the one I was looking for, it still does not appear in Roon. Has something changed with Roon’s search engine? Has anyone else noticed problems recently?
I have not noticed anything, but my use case is strictly roon, so that figures. Please share examples so that we can try to reproduce the issue.
The most recent example, I was searching for albums recorded by Roxanna Panufnik. Roon showed me three, Qobuz showed me a couple of pages – 20+ A simple search by artist and composer.
I see approx. the same number of releases. The difference is just that the Qobuz app shows most of them in the Performer tab, although she does not seem to have performer credits on most of these but composer credits.
While Roon shows - apparently correctly - most of them under the Composed By heading if you scroll down in the Discography:
There are just 3 albums at the top under Main Albums: She has a vocal credit on one, a primary artist credit on the other, and on one there is only a composer credit - so I don’t know why this was chosen for Main.
In my set up, the problem seems to occur around remastered releases. For example, I can see the Craft Recordings remasters (Moodsville 1 & 8) in the qobuz app but they don’t appear in the roon/qobuz intereface. It took a very long time for the recent Woody Shaw album to appear and then without an upload date.
The missing qobuz albums finally showed up today in roon. About a three day delay from release day.
