Describe the issue
I don’t have roon on my macbook. I only have it on the tablet and the phone
You need a Roon Server to be able to use Roon. Please install Roon on a compatible machine (like your MacBook for example) and configure it as a Roon Server (“use this machine”).
@BlackJack is correct, however, from your previous support request (6th August 2026) I read that you have had Roon Server running on your Mac.
It could be Roon automatically updated to a version that had issues running on certain Mac devices.
What is this specification of your Mac (Year, Model, CPU) and what macOS version is your Mac running?
If MacOS 12 or higher … the first troubleshooting step would be to download and reinstall Roon on your Mac.
This will ensure you are running the most recent version.
I think this is unlikely given you had Roon running early this month but for completeness… if the MacOS version is less than 12 you’ll need to update MacOS or consider alternative hardware.
That’s great news, and thanks for circling back with the fix. A defective network switch can definitely make Roon look like the culprit, so we’re glad you found the real cause and got everything sorted. Enjoy the music!
