Hello @rob.j.horvath,

Thank you for reaching out to Roon Support.

I’ve tested ALAC playback on our end, and the files are playing correctly, so this behavior appears to be specific to your setup.

Could you please share a few details to help us investigate further:

  1. File location – Are your ALAC files stored locally on the same laptop, on an external drive, or on a network share (NAS)?
  2. Roon Core setup – Is your ASUS laptop running as the Roon Core, or are you connecting to a Core running elsewhere?
  3. Example file – If possible, please upload one of the affected ALAC files to our file uploader so we can test it directly.

Once we have these details, we’ll be able to identify whether the problem is file-specific, storage-related, or decoding-related.

Hi @rob.j.horvath,

We’ll need a copy of one of the affected ALAC files to proceed. If you’re experiencing an issue with streaming service music in ALAC format, then please provide the name of an affected track for our team to test internally.

I recommend taking the following steps to ensure database integrity and up-to-date filepath references:

  1. Perform a Backup of your Roon Database for due diligence https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/backup
  2. Navigate in Roon to Settings → Library → Clean up library to perform a library cleanup
We’ll watch for your response. Thank you!
