Roon not playing any dsd files with new update

I hear silence now on any file above 192. With old 1.1 ’ roon would convert to 176 and play thru my deviatet phantoms. Now I cannot play any of my files above 192…

Can you take some screenshots of:

  • The signal path when playing DSD
  • Both tabs of the audio settings screen for this device

That should give us a better idea of what’s going on.

will do. Thanks brian.

Brian…on my McIntosh system, I keep getting a new message in orange “An Audio File is Loading Slowly” This is only on DSD128. The files are located directly on my system. Weird. Never good that message or had a problem on this system either.

What is easiest way t take screen shot?

No sound at all.

Brian… I did some experimenting and it is the Sonic Orbiter. I hooked up a Raspberry PI I had in the other room and works perfect. Some update does not work in the Sonic Orbiter for DSD playback.

Neither USB or Optical work above 192k in the SonicOrbiter with the new update. Andrew also had updates as well so not sure where the breakdown is but it is definitely the orbiter. Raspberry working on all DSD files now.

Here is screen shot with Raspberry Pi playing same file. Sound is perfect.

Brian…Andrew logged into my system and wanted me to send these to you … Mentioned something very wrong with update.

Fritz

Hey @Fritz_Curtis, I’ve got the exact same signal path on my SOSE here and it’s playing OK:

I have the SOSE set up like this:

What am I missing? Is there something else I have to do to see the problem here?

Same exact setup but just doesn’t work.

I fixed it. 7 hrs of work.

uninstalled everything. Clean install of 1.2 Roon. Re imported 10,000 files. all remotes removed and reinstalled.

Playing perfect so far. Very weird. Possible the update?

Sorry, my previous response was in wrong thread.

If you’re OK to move forward from where you are, we can probably consider this closed, but I’m a little concerned that this happened…it is very weird. I’m having a hard time imagining how the update caused it, but it seems that way given your experience.
