Roon not playing any music and each song skips on to the next without playing

So, I’ve tried logging out of and back into both Tidal and Qobuz. I’ve also tried logging out of and back into Roon. None of these solutions have worked. The problem I’m having is as follows: whenever I select ANY music, nothing plays. If it’s an album, it just keeps cycling from song to song every second until the album finishes, without ever playing anything. It doesn’t matter if the music was on Qobuz or Tidal, nothing will play. The entire library shows up, but I can’t listen to anything. I’ve checked all connections so this seems like a Roon issue.

Thank you for your post.

We can see failure events in diagnostics associated with a Roon Ready DAC. Are you experiencing this same issue - Roon skipping through all streaming tracks in the queue - with any other Zones? Try playing lower quality files (44.1KHz, 16-bit FLAC, for example) from Qobuz or Tidal directly to the System Output of a Roon controller that is hardwired via ethernet.

Do you have the latest firmware installed in the Weiss DAC502 web interface?

Do local library albums play back at all?

If the issue is only affecting streaming services, what happens if you change the max streaming quality to the lowest selection in Settings → Services for Tidal/Qobuz?

Please also describe your network topology, including any hardware that sits in between RoonServer, your main router, and any networked Zones. Include managed switches, mesh nodes, and access points with model numbers. Thank you!

Still doesn’t play back even with the update. Local files don’t play either. I have a Weiss DAC 502 that operates as the Roon server. I am not sure what the issue is. I haven’t changed anything in the cabling to the back of the DAC.

I think there’s a bit of confusion going on - your Roon Server machine seems to be running on your iMac, how is it connected to your primary router? Can you get a direct ethernet connection set up?

What happens if you temporarily disable your Mac firewall?

I also see you have an Antipodes K50 server, I would perform an RoonOS reinstall on the machine and see if your issues still persist. :+1:
