Roon not recognizing Eversolo T8 on NUC network (ref#R7Y7XE)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· None of these quite match

Tell us what's going on

· NUC and Eversolo T8 connected to same distribution box fed back one Router - Roon is not identifying T8. Earlier I had Eversolo A8. Roon used to identify A8 immediately. Please suggest how to go about this.

Tell us about your home network

· Router is DECO -> Network switch -> Feeds multiple DECOs all wired -> one of the wired DECO is in my AV Room -> AV-DECO feeds small wired distribution box -> Feeds NUC and Eversolo t T8. Eversolo T8 all setup done ETH wired, NUC currently runs successfully feeding directly to DAC. I control Roon using my phone (wifi) and occationally from my Laptop running roon app

Dear Team - Flase Alarm. I did not enable T8 on Roon. Once done, its working perfectly!

One question:

I see two T8s. which one is best or it does not matter?

  1. “roon READY” network ID is displayed
  2. Other network devices, T8 appears with same network ID.

i have picked (1) .

Hello @JnanM,

Glad you got it working! To answer your question — you made the right choice. Option 1 (“Roon Ready”) is the certified Roon Ready implementation using the RAAT protocol, and it is the recommended option. Here is why it is better than the alternatives you may also see:

  • Roon Ready (RAAT) — direct, bit-perfect audio stream with full Roon integration: gapless playback, DSP, volume control, sync with other zones, and the highest audio quality
  • AirPlay / Chromecast — these are generic streaming protocols with limitations: compressed audio (AirPlay caps at 16-bit/44.1kHz), added latency, and reduced Roon control
Stick with option 1 for the best experience.
