Roon not recognizing Networked Devices

@support

I have a PS Audio DSJ DAC and an Apple TV both connected to my network. I can see the devices on my network but Roon is not recognizing them. They are all updated with latest software/updates. I was able to see them yesterday through Roon. I moved my cable modem last night but everything is still configured the same, just the physical location of the modem changed. Not sure what to do next. Please help!

Thanks!

Try turning off any firewalls and then antivirus on the server as a test and see if the devices appear.

Also, verify the IP numbers, the devices and the server machine need to be on the same subnet, i.e. the first three number sets of the IP address match - 192.168.0.X where X can be different but the other numbers must be the same. You can use a program like Fing on a phone to see all the IP numbers on your network.

And just to be clear, those first three numbers can be different than my example, the important part is that they all match for devices on your network.

All my devices are on the same network–192.168.86.X

I think the problem may be with the core. My iPhone isn’t able to find the core library now.

Any ideas?

I think I have an idea why it’s not working…

My mac is connected direct to the router, ie. not on wifi. It was connected through a hub before. Can this be affecting it?

By connecting through a hub, you mean a separate switch or you mean via WiFi access point? But, yes, that could cause an issue depending on how the router/wifi access is setup.

I am assuming you did a reboot of the Core. You might try changing the setup back temporarily, to verify that it was the network re-arrangement that caused the issue.

Some additional information would help. Like hardware and OS of your Core? Description of your network setup, including hardware (router, switches, WiFi access points).

Ok I’ll try that.

My core is on macOS 11.13.4. I’ve already rebooted my machine and restarted Roon.

My network is:
Cable -> Modem -> direct to my iMac
Cable -> Modem -> Google wifi (w/3 access points, including main) All Google wifi are updated with latest firmware.

I hooked both my iMac and the DSJ to the switch instead of directly into either the modem or wifi and it now works. Strange…do you know why it works now or didn’t work before?

Glad it got sorted. I think it is something with the Google Wifi. There have been a couple of others on the forums that had similar issues.
