Describe the issue

Hi,
I have just downloaded the software for Roon onto a 2018 MacBook Pro running Sequoia 15.3.1 but the icon just bounces in the dock eventually showing “Application not responding”.
I would like to trial Roon, but this is not a good start. What is a potential solution? I have tried it a couple of times and deleted the app and emptied the trash, but it is consistently giving a no response message. I do have a mac desktop and it works fine on that - but I would prefer the Roon server to be on the laptop.

As it works well on the desktop, the issue must be with settings on the laptop

Kind regards
Adrian Whiteley

Hi @fiziksman55,
Welcome the the Roon community. I’m sorry you’re having trouble getting started with Roon. Can you try starting Roon again and look at the activity monitor while it tries to start up? If you’re seeing high CPU loads try exiting out of other apps and give it some time to start.

Hi Daniel, I have managed to solve this issue- so for future info - I waited until the icon has ceased bouncing in the dock then force closed the app. I then restarted the macbook allowing Roon to start on startup. This triggered a warning about 3rd party apps which on agreeing to allow (despite previously allowing this in settings) activated the normal set up procedure for Roon. Best wishes, Adrian

Hi @fiziksman55,
Great, I’m glad you were able to get Roon to start up! I’ll mark this thread as solved for you.
