ROON NUC ROCK disappeared from home network

Changed home router, therefore home network changed also. As a result - ROON NUC ROCK disappeared from home network. Tried to find in iNet Network Scanner, but it didn’t showed there. What shall I do?

Post a support request in the Support category so Roon support can see it.

Before you changed your router, was the NUC/ROCK server set to static ip?

If so, it is possible that the new router sets up a different subnet and makes the NUC/ROCK system unreachable.

If you know what the LAN side ip address of your old router was (probably beginning with 192.168.), then you could set the new router to use the same LAN side ip address.

Alternatively, you can reset the networking on your NUC/ROCK server.

To do this you will need to connect a monitor (or TV) to the HDMI port of your NUC and a USB keyboard and then reboot your NUC.

When it has finished booting, type:

<Enter>
resetnetwork<Enter>

This should set the ROCK NUC to use DHCP and get a new ip address from your router (which will be in the correct range).

In future, you can usually achieve the same result as using a static ip address (the ip address never changes) by setting up an address reservation in the DHCP settings of your router.

Just did it. Thank you!

Thanx for reply! No, it had dynamic IP. Previously I had Apple TimeCapsule router and everything was OK, but it is old and started to loose internet connection and I had to get new one - Keenetic Speedster. Previously ROON was accessible via http://10.0.1.10 address. Now, under Keenetic, all addresses are in 192.168 format. Scanned my net with different apps and my NUC didn’t showed up in them…
Tomorrow will try to reset networking on NUC. How to reboot it? Just switch off then on or are there other technics?

If you short-press the power button on the NUC, it should shutdown and power down gracefully. You can then press the button again to power on.

Do not press the power button for too long. Doing so will cause an abrupt power off which risks file system corruption. Even though the risk of curruption is quite low with ROCK, it is best to avoid the possibility whenever possible.

Thank you so much! It had some time and efforts - not every TV is smart enough to display NUC command screen, but, finally I’ve restarted network on ROCK and now it’s visible, accessible and so on. Thank You!
