As above.
Nucleus is hardwired to my Network and the files play through Roon with no issues.
However I want to tidy them up a bit.
I have my lpatop and have clicked on the My Network tab. I assumed the Nucleus would be there, but its not.
I assumed I would be able to see the Nucleus and then edit and tidy up some of my files? I am not the most technical so am I missing something obvious here?
My Printers and Router are there but not my Nucleus.
It’s probably the tightened security from Microsoft as @Suedkiez pointed out, but when you say you can’t find it, did you actually type \\Nucleus (or \\Nucleusplus, if you have a Nucleus+) into Windows File Explorer?
Windows File Explorer does have a tendency to forget about network devices if they are not actually Windows PCs…
Yeah, read some of that thread. Way over my non technical head I am afraid
I have deleted some singles off my HD through the Roon app as they would never be played.
I have 82 unidentified albums now and I want to keep them. I have tried the rescan, reidentifty etc but to no avail.
A lot of them are Hed Kandi CD rips as I was into my dance music and some are very very old Jax Trax CDs which was the start of house music
There are no relevant security complications for most home LANs. All this does is allow your Windows to connect to file shares on the LAN that allow connection by guest/guest instead of a user name and password.
In a company setting this would mean that every file share that allows guest/guest (possibly because it was forgotten to secure it with a password) can be accessed by anyone on the office network anonymously without further authentication. That’s why Microsoft is now disallowing it by default. On a home LAN that’s rarely relevant.
