Roon Nucleus+ Cannot Update to 1.8

Brand new Nucleus+ connected to network… Says
Version 1.6 (build 416) stable

Running 0 minutes, 13 seconds.

Needs update - but fails to get update from Roon Client App (on OSX). Suspect firewall issue on router (I don’t have control over).

Is there a way to force 1.8 download /install directly from the Core (via SSH for example)?

Thanks

The Nucleus is a closed system with no way for the user to access the file system. But, even if you were able to do so, you would have the same issue.

In the client, when you say yes “update” roonserver, it is the Core, aka Nucleus, which is trying to reach Roon’s update servers, not the client on which you initiated the command.

Managed to get access to the router and find that it had been hacked.

DNS was set to a rogue server 38.134.121.95 - this is a known issue with some Draytek routers:

See " Security Advisory: CSRF & DNS Attacks Security Advisory: CSRF & DNS Changed Web Interface Attacks"

https://www.draytek.co.uk/support/security-advisories/kb-advisory-csrf-and-dns-dhcp-web-attacks

Corrected the DNS servers and fixed the security hole and Roon Core then updated correctly.
