Describe the issue
Roon Nucleus one + Remote on Mac os Sequoia 15.3.1. and Iphone 12, IOS 18.3. Router: Experia BOX V10 with latest update.
I can find the roon server on both devices, but after 2 to 30 minutes there is a drop-out. The screen turns black with only the moving Roon symbol in the middle. I can't do anything. After a few minutes to half an hour, the app restores itself, but I have to find all the endzones again.
Describe your network setup

Thanks for writing in, and welcome to the community!
Do you still experience the issue after performing the above action? In additon to this, one of the myriad network security changes introduced with MacOS 15.x was MAC address randomization.
I recommend navigating to your Network settings (WiFi → Details) and checking whether the Mac in question is relying on a Fixed, not a rotating, Private WiFi Address.
If after the above, you still experience disconnects, please take note of the specific date, time, and name of track playing. From there we’ll enable diagnostics and take a closer look - thank you!
Hi Benjamin, Thanks for your reply. The private wifi-adress is fixed, so that should be ok. I will make a note of the date, time and the name of the track I was playing when i happens again. And I will post it here. Best! Mischa
Thanks for sharing the above information! We were able to pinpoint the cause of the issue - your Nucleus is out of available RAM, likely due to your library size (~184k tracks) being almost double the device’s capacity (up to 100k tracks.) Here’s the error trace:
user.err kernel: [10107.713587] Out of memory: Killed process 9795 (RoonAppliance)
Note that you are allowed to change the RAM, but if your Nucleus is damaged by the new RAM or the upgrade process, it’s not covered under warranty, unfortunately.
Another option would be to cap your library size closer to 100k tracks.
Certainly, let me know if you run into any other questions!
Thank you for your reply. A good idea: I’m going to drastically reduce my library. Changing the memory doesn’t seem like a good solution to me. I’m not that technical. Thank you very much for your reply and best regards,
