· Just started with Roon and don't think I will be continuing past my trial because of all the glitches I've encountered. I bought a Roon Nucleus, have everything set up, (I'm not inexperienced with this stuff) and experiencing sudden dropouts - now suddenly my entire Tidal library of albums is listed as "unavailable." Never any issues like this with Mconnect which is free. Spotify direct working flawlessly to my Meitner MA3. In short, I feel hustled. Will sell the Nucleus. I can't believe a service like this - one that asks you to pay for something that is readily available everywhere for free - is so bad.

Thanks for writing in and for sharing your report! Sorry to hear you’ve had a rocky start to using Roon and your Nucleus. If you’d like to continue giving it a try, we’d be more than happy to help get things stabilized for you.
As a first step, sign out of Tidal in Roon and sign back in manually. Go to Settings → Services → Tidal → Disconnect, then reconnect. The auth token cycling could be having issues, and a fresh auth is likely to stabilize it.
We didn’t see any dropout traces in a fresh Nucleus diagnostic report. Would you be able to reproduce the issue and share the track name the next time you hear a dropout?
We’ll be monitoring for your reply and results, thank you!
I signed out of Tidal and signed back in. Same problem. I canceled my trial, will be selling this nucleus that I stupidly bought. Using mConnect right now, which is FREE, and which is working perfectly. I am admittedly a gullible audiophile and boy you really got me with this one. “Yes there is something that works perfectly that is free… but instead of that what if we told you that there is another thing that you have to pay for AND you need an extra piece of dedicated hardware that costs over $1000… wouldn’t that be great?” And THEN it turns out that this expensive solution is riddled with problems that I’m supposed to spend time figuring out. It’s mindboggling to me that Roon is still in business.
Sadly David most issues like the ones you describe are due to networking conflicts or basic user error. Roon are offering to help you, why not give it a go; you may be pleasantly surprised by the outcome.
alternatively, if you are set on walking away, do it with dignity and enjoy your music on whatever system you settle on; life is too short to be bitter.
I have walked away. I think my dignity is intact. I am a little bitter. “Basic user error” - okay mate. The point is that if you’re paying for something that is basically free it should be way way better. Seamless. Etc. Based on the number of frustrated complaints I encountered today that mirrored mine, I remain genuinely surprised that Roon can get away with getting people to pay for what they offer. I suspect they have roped in a bunch of folks (who likely are no stranger to “user error” themselves) into their ecosystem and those people don’t realize how little they’re getting for their money (I’m looking at you Apple). But so be it. Life is too short. Thank you for these wise words that were perhaps best left embroidered on a throw pillow.
We hear you, and I truly empathize with your frustration. You’re right that software you pay for should feel seamless, and if it didn’t feel that way for you, that’s on us to understand, not on you to accept.
It’s certainly not the experience we want anyone to have.
I won’t try to talk you out of walking away, you’ve made your call, and I respect that completely. But I did want you to know the door is genuinely open if you ever feel like giving it another shot under different circumstances. We’d be happy to extend your trial so time pressure isn’t a factor, and I’d personally make sure you had a smoother path through setup.
Thanks for being honest with us. If you ever change your mind, we’ll be here and ready to assist!
