Describe the issue

My credit card expired while I was out of country. I have since restarted my payment plan. I run a ROON Nucleus via a Mac remote. Roon does not see the Nucleus or when it does the "choose" button is greyed out & inoperative. I have removed & downloaded the ROON app, restarted my server & all Orbi remotes, restarted my Mac mini & checked all connections multiple times. The ROON Nucleus is on the Orbi list of accepted devices. It is also on the Norton "approved devices" list. ROON actively looks for the Nucleus but never finds it. It gives me the option to set up a Roon server on my Mac but that requires another account. Please help.

Describe your network setup

Running Orbi mesh system. Nucleus is direct wired to Orbi satelite as is my mac mini.

Hi @morrismrinak,

Thanks for sharing your report!

As a first step, please bypass your current network setup and get your Nucleus connected to your primary router, and see if the same issue occurs.

While this should typically work, it may also be helpful to temporarily disable the firewall on your Mac, and Norton or any other third party security software (outside of what you have on your router - always keep that on and active) and let us know the results.

We’ll be on standby for your reply, thank you! :raised_hands:

I have checked disconnected and reconnected everything you suggested. The Mac now sees the nucleus, but the connect button is still grayed out and unusable. Roon seems to be locked up. I think there is something in the roon nucleus that you need to reset for the Mac to be able to connect to it.

@morrismrinak your Nucleus Plus is running a sligthly older version of Roon. The current Production release for Roon Server is 1517 and you are on 1496. While this may not resolve your connection issue, it is best to be on the current release between Roon Server and your Roon Remotes. Can you update your Nucleus Plus to 1517 and see if this resolves the connection issue with your Mac Roon Remote?

Hi @morrismrinak,
Like @Robert_F said updating to the latest version of Roon Server may resolve this issue for you. Were you able to test that out?

Hey @morrismrinak,

Have you also rebooted your router? Give that a try as well. @Robert_F is correct in that updating your Nucleus to the latest build would also be a good next step - see if you can access the webUI of your Nucleus and reinstall the RoonOS. Here’s more info on how to access the webUI:

This should also help you confirm that your Nucleus is on the same local subnet as your Mac, which is necessary for proper connection. :+1:
