Describe the issue

My Roon nucleus was working perfectly - we had a power outage in my building and the modem/router went out. After that the roon remote app could not find/make a connection with the nucleus OS server on the network. I rebooted the network, etc, I took the unit to my dealer and the Roon nucleus worked fine on their network. So i know my Nucleus is working.

Since my roon worked previously on my home network i know the network works - all other devices on the network are fine. When i look up on my IP address - i can see other devices but not the Roon nucleus on my network.

Is there a human being that i can speak with - i will pay for the service - in the past i have been sent to message boards which are too technical for me. I am an audiophile not a computer/IT person.

Thank you - i am really desperate to try to fix the problem.

Describe your network setup

I have ATT& T Uverse I am connected directly to the ethernet port

@Doug_Mann, what AT&T gateway are you using? Also:

  1. Have you tried to replace either your Nucleus’ Ethernet cable or change the port to which it is connected on the AT&T gateway?

  2. Do you have any other network devices (router, switch, WiFi extenders, etc.) in your network?

Hi @Doug_Mann,
Thanks for writing in to let us know about this issue. Please try @Robert_F’s suggestions. If that doesn’t help let us know and we can troubleshoot further.

Robert

Thanks - I changed the port (X2 ) and the cables - I do have other network devices - i have switches and an eeo wifi extender. I am not trying to connect the nucleus through the switch. is there anything else that you recommend?

Doug

Hey @Doug_Mann,

Looks like you’re doing something right - your Nucleus is able to connect to our servers! Based on a recent diagnostic report, it looks like you’ve since been able to play some music as well. Are you still running into issues?

Benjamin

I still cannot see the Roon on my network - i had a network technician recommended by store i bought my Roon from and he come out and took a look;

1 Hardwired straight to router - he could see on the router - no IP address only Mac address - tech tried to reserve an IP address based on the Mac address - still did not work

2_ the tech plugged the Roon into his computer and could not find it lanscan

  1. Tried to HDMI t o monitor but could not see on the TV

  2. Firewall turned off entirely on the router.

What you may be seeing on your diagnostics is when iI took the unit to Music for Pleasure (Roon vendor) on 8/17 I was able to see the unit on their network. I will leave the unit plugged in at my home - can you rerun the diagnostics and see if you can see anything from 8/18 forward.

Thanks - Doug

Hi @Doug_Mann,
We’re definitely still getting diagnostics from your Nucleus. This is from today. Do you recognize the song it says is playing?

08/23 10:46:06 Trace: [LYNGDORF TDA-1120] [LowQuality, 24/44 MP3 => 24/44] [PLAYING @ 4057:01] Kygo & Emmit Fenn - Hold On
08/23 10:46:06 Trace: [Naim Atom] [LowQuality, 24/44 MP3 => 24/44] [PLAYING @ 4057:01] Kygo & Emmit Fenn - Hold On

What’s odd is that Roon says it’s been playing for 4057 minutes. Additionally I’m seeing that there seems to be a lot of speakers being synced together as well. Is this consistent with the way you use Roon?

Daniel - This activity is definitely not from my Room - I know these music files are not mine because 100% of my files are saved in FLAC format and I have the hi-res streaming service from Tidal and Qobuz . I never stream mp3s. Are you sure you are monitoring my unit?

Doug

I just checked again to be sure. This is definitely the server that Roon has associated with your account. We will have to begin an investigation into this.

Alright it looks like music for pleasure is cross linked with your account, and guess your Nucleus somehow interacted with their account.
