Roon Nucleus One - storage

Hi!

I’ve ordered a Roon Nucleus One, and should receive it in a few days.

My question is about the internal storage. I know there is a possibility to add SATA disc, but I’m assuming there is some internal memory enough for the OS as well as cache etc?

If I only use Tidal and Qobuz, no need to worry/bother about adding a SSD?

That would only be necessary if I want to download and save FLAC?

Thanks in advance

Correct.
If you are not planning to add any local files at this time you will not need any extra storage capacity.
Good to go for streaming only for sure.

Inside the Nucleus will be a small M.2 style SSD just for the OS and Roon database.

If you decide to use local files you can always simply plug in an external USB HDD it doesn’t need to be internal , it’s jut neater.

Some would argue external over internal , from a performance point of view there is no difference

for reference I have a NUC with an internal SSD

Mainly from a database backup point of view. You can’t backup the database to an internal drive, you can to an external one.
