Number of Tracks in Library

  • This is difficult to say since I cannot access the DB. 18TB of data on my NAS. Mostly FLAC files at 140MB/song = ~= 110K tracks

  • 98% of the music files are on a Synology NAS.

  • I did your drag and drop to the Titan Nucleus and it got hung up each time. I was only trying to import approximately 25 albums of files each time and it has crashed 2 times ultimately leading to where I am now.

Description of Issue

After trying the drag and drop method for adding files to the NucTitan, it stopped mid process. 2 times. Since then, I cannot get it back on line. Some notes are below:

  • I did your drag and drop to the Titan Nucleus and it got hung up each time. I was only trying to import approximately 25 albums of files each time and it has crashed 2 times ultimately leading to where I am now.

  • I have tried to restore via backup multiple times.

  • The one that I saved on the SSD/Nucleus Titan will not restore. It gets to about 3% and crashes.

  • The ones that I have on my NAS prior to the migration each get a bit and then crash out often around 3% but with disimilar behavior as above.

  • I have rebooted. Restarted. Kickstarted. No luck.

  • Now - Errors: They can be any one of these. They are sporadic.
*Roon Loading image like it is looking for my music server. Non stop for hours. (SS #2)

  • If I shut that down, restart it asks me to connect to my Roon library. It is available and green Ready. I click on Connect and I am back to Roon loading.

(SS #3) If I reboot the Nucleus Titan, I can get it back to where it asks me to Add Music or Continue. I click continue. Skip the music service. And, it pops up like it is looking for my library. Non stop for hours. It says at the bottom no audio devices found.

Overall, I have found your Backup and Restore process to be quite cumbersome and I have seen sporadic behavior there as well. Sometimes I need to Restore multiple times before it can fully do it. It seems like it is timing out within the code.

Hello @Brian_Fay,

Thank you for reaching out to Roon Support.

We’ve gone ahead and enabled diagnostics on your account. Based on the logs, it appears that your Nucleus Titan does not currently have a properly mounted data storage drive. Instead, it looks like your music files are being stored on the same internal drive as the operating system. This setup can quickly consume available system space and potentially cause your device to become unresponsive.

To move forward, please connect to your Nucleus Titan using either the web interface or a direct HDMI connection and share a screenshot or photo of what you see. You can access the web interface using the instructions in the following article:

**/dev/nvme0n1p4**: 204.6 GB (204.5 GB used, 10.3 MB available) LABEL=“ROONDATA”

:link: Accessing the Nucleus Web Administration Interface

We’d like to confirm whether your internal or external storage is properly installed and formatted. If the drive hasn’t been initialized yet, please follow this guide to format and prepare it:

:link: Installing and Formatting Internal Storage on Nucleus

Looking forward to your update so we can ensure everything is running smoothly again!

Best regards,
Vadim

OK. I will do that later today and let you know what I determine.

Vadim - Can’t I just send you the screenshot from my access on the web vs. adding a monitor to my NucTitan? I have that and can provide that now. This would be my direct access for Titan without adding the monitor. I have attached that minus my networking info.

Hi @Brian_Fay ,

Thanks for the screenshot. As shown in your WebUI, you have 0% space remaining on the internal drive, and this is causing the boot issue. To resolve this issue, I suggest to manually access your Nucleus Internal Storage Data folder, and see if there are any redundant folders you don’t need there, perhaps there is a RoonServer_Old folder clogging up the drive space.

If you can share a screenshot of the contents of the drive, we can advise if there are any files that can be cleaned up.

OK. I deleted the folder that has my music files on it. I was mistaken and thought it was correct. How do I tell if I have an SSD HD installed? Based on what I see compared to the other screen shot, It looks like I do not have one, hence the issue.

I restored my backup from there and am back up and running. Thanks.

Hey @Brian_Fay,

Great news, and great work!

You are correct here - an internal SSD to hold local tracks would show up via your webUI like you’ve stated above.
