Describe the issue

Dear Roon Support Team,

I am currently experiencing an issue with my Roon Nucleus+. The Web UI is inaccessible, and the Roon Core cannot be detected by any Roon Remote devices. However, I am able to successfully ping the Nucleus+ at its IP address, 192.168.168.16, from my computer, which is on the same network (192.168.168.17).

Here are the troubleshooting steps I have tried so far:

I attempted to reset the network settings using the resetnetwork command, but the system returned a "no such file" error.
I considered reinstalling the Roon ROCK OS, but I encountered difficulties formatting the internal drive to proceed with the installation.
I have disabled all firewalls on my computer, but I’m unsure what steps to take on the Roon ROCK side to troubleshoot. It appears that the system does not allow the use of Linux commands.
Could you please advise on any other steps I can take to resolve this issue?

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,
Chia-Hao Chang

Describe your network setup

The Roon Nucleus+ and my computer are both connected to the same switch, which is located behind my router. Both devices are assigned IPs in the same subnet (Nucleus+: 192.168.168.16, Computer: 192.168.168.17), and I can successfully ping the Nucleus+ from my computer. However, the Web UI is inaccessible, and Roon Core cannot be found on my network. I also tested the Nucleus+ at another location, but the issue persisted, with no access to the Web UI or detection of the Core.

Hey @fdsa654hg,

Thanks for taking the time to write in, and welcome to the community!

Can you be more specific with your steps when you performed the above? How did you leave things, and what is the current setup?

I see a few instances of Roon Server tied to your account, could you please set your Nucleus up to be the only active instance of Roon Server? From there, please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader?

As a next step, lets reset the network settings on the Nucleus. Steps to follow below:

  1. Connect the Nucleus to a monitor or TV via HDMI.
  2. Connect a USB keyboard to the Nucleus.
  3. Power on the Nucleus and let it boot.
  4. Press ENTER
  5. Type resetnetwork
  6. Press ENTER

Let me know if you’re able to connect afterward. Thanks! :+1:

Hi Benjamin,

Resetting the network settings didn’t actually work. It initially showed an error like “no such file.” However, I eventually found the problem: the system SSD seemed to have failed and switched to a read-only mode.

I replaced the SSD and installed the Roon ROCK system instead. Everything is now functioning normally, but it appears this isn’t the original Nucleus+ system. Is there any way to restore it to its original state?

Thank you!
