Formation connected via Digital Coax to a Rotel Pre Amp

Description Of Issue

I have this bowers piece connected to my Rotel preamp via digital coax. Other sources work, and the formation will play through Airplay. When I load up Roon (Qobuz & Tidal) nothing plays. The song time bar just bounces back and fourth. It has worked flawlessly the last couple days, I have reset in the Formation app and unplugged, replugged as well.

Hi @Anthony_Thayer — Thanks for reaching out!

Is there any change if you connect the laptop via Ethernet instead of WiFi? As noted in our Networking Guide we always recommend using Ethernet for your Core’s connection whenever possible.

If you play to System Output of the Core machine instead of to the Bowers is there any change in behavior?

It would not play through the system output. While moving it to plug into Ethernet the Roon app crashed on my computer. I booted it back up and it’s working now. I thought it was a Formation issue, I guess not. Thanks.
