Roon on mac mini is using too much ram.

I have a mac mini(M2) with 16GB of Ram. With Room installed on my mac I'm finding when using Photoshop or Lightroom that I get warnings that I'm running out of memory and things are slowing down.

Is Room always working in the background? Can anything be done to have Roon use memory only when I want too? I uninstalled Roon and have had no further memory issues but I really miss it!

Hi @dhemme,

Thank you for the report. We can activate more granular diagnostic logging that should untangle why this resource and memory consumption might be so high. However, it will require you to reinstall Roon and reproduce the event so log reports can capture the incident.

A few questions in the meantime:

  1. Do you recall if you had Background Analysis throttled when this occurred?

  2. When you uninstalled, did you fully delete RoonServer from your Mac’s Library folder, or did you uninstall the app itself? If it’s the latter, can you please use the directions found here and send a compressed (zipped) version of the RoonServer logs folder to our uploader? https://workdrive.zohoexternal.com/collection/8i5239cc05950ac07456889838d9319545a82/external
