Hi @les,
Thanks for writing in to ask us about this issue. I think we need some more details before we begin troubleshooting. When you try to connect your phone to your server what happens? Can you share screenshot of the screen(s) you see?

By this do you mean that you can use Roon on the MacBook with the Roon server on it?

I opened a second account, lord knows how many times I have paid. Now it plays about 15 seconds of the song and cuts out. On my other mac, it just wont connect, and says connecting period. Nothing happens.

Hey @les,

Sorry to hear your issues persist! Note that you only need a single account to run a single instance of Roon Server at a time. Unless you plan on having two active Roon Servers running at the same time in different locations, you likely only need one. :+1:

Since you’re running Roon on your Mac, I’d double check your firewall settings. The easiest way to test this would be to temporarily disable your Mac firewall, and see if you’re able to connect. Here’s more helpful information on this:

If your issues persist, let’s see if a fresh database may help, steps to follow below:

Let’s try a fresh database and see if your issues persist:

  • Create a Backup of your current database
  • Exit out of Roon + RoonServer (from taskbar area)
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “Roon Server” and “Roon”
  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old” and “Roon” to “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
  • Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup
