Hi its not a server issue. iPhone, mac etc roon loads instantly. The server is a roon rock, I am on about just launching roon to interact from windows 11.
15gen i7, 64 gigs ram, 3080 etc.
Happy to suggest it might be something my end, as no one else is complaining. I tried reinstalling it which worked for a little while.
Its very random sometimes i loads instant other times I can be waiting for a minute or so.
I think the next step here is to enable some diagnostics on your account so our technical staff can get some more insight into what’s going on here.
However, before I enable this feature, I’d like to ask for your help ensuring we gather the right information.
First, can you please reproduce the issue once more and note the time at which the error occurs. Then respond here with that time, and I’ll make sure we review the diagnostics related to that timestamp.
It’s definitely not normal for the remote app to take this long when the server is already running.
Just to clarify, is the app open and showing a spinning logo, or is it taking a full minute for the Roon GUI to appear?
At the timestamp you shared, logs show some sequential connection failures to GARYPC during device discovery; Roon Server eventually recovered and connected.
Knowing the actual visible state of Roon on the screen during that time will help us ascertain whether the connectivity issues are a cause or a result of this condition.
Hi in this state there is no evidence I pressed anything no roon screen. In the past I hit the Roon button in taskbar a number of times. Thankfully multiple instances do not load.
it’s odd and probably connected to my set up but I do not have anything fancy going as far as I am aware
Thanks for the extra detail. It sounds like this is happening before the Roon window even appears, and the multiple-instance behavior you mentioned is helpful context.
We’d like to review the diagnostics report from your Roon Remote. Please launch it on Windows so we can check that.
Just checking in to see if you are still able to reproduce the issue.
In the meantime, we wanted to mention that the connection failures to GARYPC visible in your logs are consistent with a brief network discovery delay — this can sometimes occur on UniFi systems due to how multicast traffic is handled across VLANs or switch ports. If the issue persists, it may be worth checking that IGMP Snooping and multicast filtering settings on your UniFi network are not blocking Roon’s discovery protocol.
That said, we would still like to review the diagnostics report to get a clearer picture. Please launch Roon on Windows and share the timestam it at your earliest convenience.
by all means fill your boots. It still happens. Mostly it happens after I restart windows so perhaps something that was stacked in memory is gone so it takes a while to load
If you could bring your windows remote back online and boot up Roon, that would be helpful!
I also wanted to check to see if you were able to review the additional troubleshooting steps Vadim mentioned above - are you able to check your router settings for IGMP Snooping / multicase filtering?
