Roon only plays 16 bits tracks from Qobuz Studio in Node 2i, not 24 bits

HP Elite Core i5

Fiber optic 600 megas broadband line, Node 2i connected via Ethernet cable to router. HP laptop as Roon core, and controlling Node 2i in Roon via wifi.

Bluesound Node 2i, HP Elite, Adcom GFA 545 amplifier via RCA

Windows 10 HP laptop wiressly to Node 2i connected to fiber optic through ethernet cable, and from Node to a power amplifier through analog RCA cable. Plays ANY track if its is 16 bits, but NOTHING 24 bits. Plays any 24 bits track if it is downloaded to laptop hard disc or USB hard drive, But ANY 24 bits from Qobuz Studio (plays well if I choose any16 bits track). A real mistery…
Any clue?
Thank you.

Hello @Higinio_Martinez,

Can you please share a screenshot of your Signal Path when you attempt to play 24-bit Qobuz content?

Also, when you say that it doesn’t play, what exactly are you seeing? Does the progress bar move and you’re getting no sound or is playback unable to start at all? Any error messages?

Hello,

Thank you for the quick response.

When I play 25 bits tracks on Qobuz Studio it starts sounding well a few seconds, then it stops, then it may jump into another track forward, then it just sounds like pink noise. And stays on the back even if I change to a CD track.

I paste some screenshots attached.

Thanks!

Hi @Higinio_Martinez,

Could you please temporarily try connecting the Core via Ethernet to check if this is a WiFi-related issue? What is your router model/manufacturer?

Hi, the router is this one: https://www.movistar.es/particulares/movil/moviles/hgu/

  • -ONT + Router + access point Wifi 5GHz

  • **6 internal antennas **

  • 4 for 5GHz + 2 for 2,4GHz

-2,4GHz: 802,11n 2x2

-5GHz: 802,11ac 4x4

-1,93 Gbps: (802,11ac)

Re connecting the Core via Ethernet, I had to do it from a secondary laptop because the regular one has not ethernet port. I did it and worked fine. But the problem was… it also worked via Wifi i.e. without ethernet cable connection. So, it was not the wifi. On the contrary, it rather can be the laptop itself.

What do you think?
ANYWAY, IMPORTANT: I reinstaleed Roon in the old Core and now it seems to work via Wifi (no cable available) fine. Let’s wait and see…

Very grateful for the help.

Regards.

Hello @Higinio_Martinez,

Glad to hear that the Roon reinstall helped resolve this behavior! Do let me know us know if there are further issues.
