Roon OS 2.1 (build270) settings\audio mismatch with actual RoonOS version installed

I just went through and updated my ROCK/NUC OS to 2.1 (build 270). All went well.

However, there is a mismatch between what Settings/audio shows for the RoonOS versus what the WebUI and the initial “Choose your server” page say I am running for the RoonOS.

On the settings/audio page there are also now two sections referring to the audio devices on the Rock NUC. The second of which is “Roon Optimized Core Kit” and it indicates that it is on “RoonOS 1.0 (257) earlyaccess” (see below).

The first one in settings/audio is “Connected to the Roon Server” and looks like this:

The second one in settings/audio is “Roon Optimized Core Kit” and looks like this:

The Login/“choose your server” page in Roon app and the WebUI both indicate that I am on RoonOS 2.1 (build 270).

Hmm, I see this

Web UI

@bearFNF - Have you tried restarting your Roon client? Does this make any difference?

@Menzies yep, on the WebUI it is correct.

@Geoff_Coupe geo Yes, rebooted several times, even tried re-installing the OS from the webUI.

The only place it is showing incorrectly is on the settings/audio page. Where the label under the
zone is still showing RoonOS 1.0 (build 257). It may just be a delayed/broken update to that page?

I also tried the refresh on the zone itself.

Bizarrely, below my Rock section it still shows this

Very odd.

I was using DietPi before install Rock to test RoonOS 2.1

A quick restart of Roon Server Software in the Web UI has cleared that.

That leads me to believe that the settings/audio “label” is not updating?

I just looked at the settings/setup “Find Roon OS” and it show the correct RoonOS:

Do you have two sections in settings/audio representing audio devices connected to ROCK?

Nope - just the one entry, and no IP address shown. Do you have Tailscale enabled?

no, I don’t have Tailscale at all.

Weird i just went through and enabled all 8 zones and gave them names, then both sets just disappeared. so now I have no listing for the devices connected to the server ROCK/NUC. Server is still working… Time for another reboot.

Edit: Reboot brought it back to having two section again. I just went through and disabled all 8 devices. There should only be four devices showing for the NUC. I think enabling all eight (or two per device) caused a conflict with Roon trying to control is due to the two different section pointing to the same devices. Luckily I don’t have any endpoints on my NUC directly or this could be a bigger issue.
