Roon playback cannot resume after using iPhone remote; requires reboot (ref#PY2DLW)

I’ve followed the suggestions and the problem remains unsolved. Is there anything more you can do?

If not, as I’ve said from the beginning, this is an inconvenience, but I can live with it. I just don’t want this thread to close until I know you’ve done whatever you think is possible.

Thank you.

Hi @Geoff_Mirelowitz,

Don’t worry, we’re still investigating this case actively with development. It’s taking longer than we’d like to reach a firm conclusion. This isn’t ideal behavior and it’s not how network discovery and playback are supposed to function with Roon on iOS.

Thank you again for your patience.

Thank you.

No updates yet @Geoff_Mirelowitz, but we have a ticket in and it’s in the queue for review and additional analysis. :+1:

Thank you.

Hi @Geoff_Mirelowitz,

We’ll update the thread as soon as we have further news to share, thanks again for your patience as we look into this.

Thanks again. I am now home and using Roon again so perhaps there will be some new data that is of use.

Hi @Geoff_Mirelowitz,

This investigation will remain open until we pin down the actual cause. If the broker loses connection to the iPhone, RAAT will tear down the Zone during playback. But even if a network disruption were to cause that, you shouldn’t have to reboot the server or the remote to reinitiate the connection and see the Zone.

Thanks. Although I confess that I do not understand the terms you used here:

If the broker loses connection to the iPhone, RAAT will tear down the Zone during playback.
