Describe the issue

Good morning, Is there a way to
clear the history in Roon ?
It's very full, and the program is getting slower and slower.
I recently bought a new iPad, and this hasn't improved anything.
I've also posted this question on the forum, and no one has found a solution.
So it would be great if one of you could look into this.
Sincerely, Eric

Select part or all of the entries in History,
Click Edit at the top right, and choose Delete plays.
You will need to confirm.

The slowdown probably has nothing to do with the history. It’s expected that the history gets long - all the Roon statistics rely on it. If you remove plays from the history, you will lose all the info about what you listened to.

My history is 5 years old and includes 10 times as many plays as yours, I never cleared it, and it’s not making anything slow.

I’m afraid you haven‘t done a proper root cause analysis before jumping on a suspected solution.

In particular, the iPad is just a remote control. Everything that’s important runs on the Roon server, so buying a new iPad isn’t going to fix server slowdowns.

I’d suggest letting Roon support staff analyze the problem before you start deleting stuff. You have this support ticket here, so that’s a good start and Roon support will get to it.

It will help if you let us know on what hardware and software platform is your Roon Server running on, and how large is your library (how many tracks).

Good day @Eric_Besemer !

I hope you’re doing well today .

As @Suedkiez has mentioned history is not likely to do anything with it .

The history you see is not just a history. There is an analytics behind it which counts your track plays etc.

Instead, can you please add a bit more of details what exactly gets slower for you and which parts of app are affected ?

Thanks!

looking forward to your reply!

Regards.

I'm using an Intel NUC 10i5FNH

. This device might be too full.
I’ll do some “cleaning up” here
, hopefully speeding up the system a bit.

How many tracks in your library? I also use a NUC 10i5

Good day @Eric_Besemer !

Can you please add a bit more details about your concern?

What do you mean under “too full” ?

Thanks!

Regards.

The Nuc is too full

Hi @Eric_Besemer,

With your above response, are you stating that this was the cause of your issues? Are things performing normally on your iPad at this point?

Thank you!
