Hey @Dick_Cooper,

Thanks for sharing another report! Could you please bring your Roon Server back online, and we’ll enable diagnostic mode to take a closer look.

Thank you! :raising_hands:

There is another problem. I cannot log on at all..problem fixed , keyboard without power

Hello @Dick_Cooper ,

Have you been able to login since your message? I saw your system was able to upload a diagnostic to our server for review. Looking over this log, I do see that playback stops suddently and then there appears to be a crash that occurs right after playback stops. I suggest that we try a full reinstall of Roon to see if this help, please use the below instructions to do so:

 • Create a Backup of your current database
 • Exit out of Roon + RoonServer (from taskbar area)
 • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
 • Find the folder that says “Roon Server” and “Roon”
 • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old” and “Roon” to “Roon_old”
 • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
 • Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup

Here is the process outlined from a macOS machine:

Sounds good @Dick_Cooper, let us know how the above goes :+1:

I have been trying for 2 days to reset my apple password>Apple is being no help aat all

Hello @Dick_Cooper ,

Thanks for the update. Please let us know when you are able to regain access to your system and we can continue troubleshootingt.

Hi @Dick_Cooper,

We haven’t seen any activity on this thread or in RoonServer diagnostics for several days, although it does look like Roon pinged our servers since you last posted here.

Please let us know the current status of the issue and whether we can provide any further assistance - we’ve extended the thread timer to prevent it from automatically closing without any response from the original poster.

We’ll watch for your reply. We’re eager to make sure playback is restored to your setup. Thanks!

Hi @Dick_Cooper

This thread appears to have gone silent, but we wanted to share a few resources to equip you to troubleshoot moving forward.

The RoonServer we see in diagnostics does appear to have an issue with accessing and indexing the library. There are no library tracks listed despite a library of over 40k+ tracks previously associating with this server.

There is a second server on the network, hosted on a Windows machine, that shows similar discrepancies.

If you migrated the same RoonServer instance between these two machines by restoring a Backup, it’s quite likely that the Backup itself has latent corruption or was improperly installed/configured.

Please take the following steps after double-checking that you have an older available Roon Backup:

 • Exit out of Roon + RoonServer (from taskbar area)
 • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
 • Find the folder that says “Roon Server”
 • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old” or delete it
 • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
 • Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database
 • Restore your earliest Backup
Please let us know if this helps. This thread will close shortly without a response.

Thank you!
