Description of Issue

Hello all,

I’ve only been using Roon for a short time (so I’m still in the trial period) and I really like the software, but I have exactly the same problem that has been described here for several years and apparently hasn’t been solved yet:

The Roon core on my Mac mini apparently does not reliably notice when music is no longer playing on one or more players and therefore does not go into sleep mode as desired.

“pmset - g assertions” in the terminal gives the following status message:

"NoIdleSleepAssertion named: “Music is playing”.
pid 78507(caffeinate): [0x000a4a9500018f21] 00:14:39 PreventUserIdleSystemSleep named: “caffeinate command-line tool”.
Details: caffeinate asserting forever
Localized=THE CAFFEINATE TOOL IS PREVENTING SLEEP…

The same problem has been described several times (see e.g. here Roon prevents Mac Mini sleepmode).

Now my question: Is there a solution in the meantime?

If not, I will not buy Roon in any case, but stay with the Logitech media server, because it masters this problem reliably.

For the proud price of Roon, there should be a solution after several years for this problem, which is apparently not an isolated case.

I am looking forward to a reply.

Many thanks and greetings
Thomas
