Thanks. Looks to be device-specific. miniDSP SDH does not have the Auto Standby button, but does have the other two (Volume Limits and Device Setup).
Thank you!
If there is no standby option, try disabling and then enabling the ROON endpoint where the sound disappeared in the Roon server settings. This also breaks and restores the RAAT session, and the device starts playing, but only until the next shutdown or standby. So this is a temporary solution, but better than rebooting everything(((
I have a T3 and a Nuc Titan running 2.60 build 1629 with the same problem. Lumin told me that by changing the resync delay setting when it happens will start it working without powering the T3 down or the Nuc titan and it has been working - Worth a try !
I too have this issue, with NUC running ROCK and the Lumin U2 Mini as an endpoint. It’s a major effort to get anything to play, reboot the NUC, power cycle the Lumin…making me consider walking away from Roon when my sub runs out in April. This has been a known issue for 4 weeks!
Disabling then Enabling the device worked for me, too! Settings→Audio→(roon ready device that’s not working)→(settings gear)→disable. Then enable. Works until the next shutdown of the miniDSP SDH. Saves me a trip to the wiring closet to power cycle the roon ROCK every time…
Let me just add: yes, I can deal with this and “disable/enable” my audio device on a daily basis. But: I am not able to explain this my wife. She will just turn around and use Spotify ![]()
anybody else with this issue?
Best
Sven
Hey guys @roon, are you still in the dark without any clue what’s going wrong here? I am puzzled
It has now been roughly about 25 days since this thread was opened, and there has been no substantive follow-up from staff.
For non-technical users, the issue is simple: after an update, playback just doesn’t start, even though everything appears connected.
For more technical users, the pattern looks like a build-level regression affecting playback initialization or device state handling after standby.
In the meantime, users are sharing temporary workarounds (like toggling the Max Sample Rate or restarting the server) just to restore basic playback.
The fact that people are relieved when a configuration toggle “wakes up” the system says a lot about the current situation.
This is not about entitlement to a specific version. It’s about a paid service where a core function has been unreliable for weeks.
After weeks, silence is no longer neutral — it actively erodes confidence in how this incident is being handled.
I agree. In other softwaresystems this it at least a P2 incident and the team should have been more responsive:
- Yes, we accept the problem
- This is our Estimated Time to Fix
Instead we have only got silence from the Roon team.
Room for improvement, team.

For your answer, above the topic:
Thanks for the update regarding the DNS / Cloudflare incident.
However, just to clarify: the issue that was merged into this tracking thread predates the current connectivity problem and was introduced after a recent Roon update. It concerns playback initialization (e.g., playback stuck at 0:00 after standby, temporarily resolved by restarting the server or toggling Max Sample Rate).
These symptoms appear unrelated to login errors, metadata retrieval failures (410), or connection errors (530).
Could you please confirm whether the playback regression introduced by the update is being tracked separately from the current Cloudflare-related incident?
At the moment, the response about DNS resolution does not seem directly connected to the core issue discussed in this thread.

Tell us what's going on
· My system does not work any longer after latest Roon Rock version update: 1) when I turn off the Silent Angel Munich MT1 bridge and the Topping D900 DAC and then turn on again the Roon Rock does not see them any longer unless I reboot the Roon Rock and 2) after I reboot it the Munich bridge becomes visible again but when I press “play” nothing plays and the timer stays forever at 0:00 as per picture attached. Nothing has changed in my system setup, which was working beautifully until the last Rock update

Previous discussions:
Hello everyone,
We know this issue has been a frustrating one, and we truly appreciate your patience while we’ve been working behind the scenes to address it.
Our latest Early Access release includes targeted changes aimed at improving this specific behavior. Based on the feedback we’ve received so far, the update appears to be helping in the majority of cases, which is encouraging.
That said, we’re still seeing a few edge cases that require additional refinement, and we’re continuing to fine-tune things. If you’d wish to test the current round of fixes, you can do so either by switching over to the Early Access branch, or alternatively, you can wait for the next production release and let us know your feedback then.
Thank you again for your ongoing feedback and collaboration — it’s been instrumental in helping us move this forward.
UPDATE : Roon 2.61 production is now available…
Roon 2.61 production is now available. Everyone here please upgrade to it.
So far so good. P1 mini just came alive and ok on play without any additional intervention, X2 I hope will be similar too.
