Roon recommendation for collaborators and performing the music of not updating [Ticket In]

Lorde Pure Heroine repetitions attached. Tin Pan Alley on multiple mixes as I had complained above. Also have Dire Straits On Every Street in multiple mixes, Taylor Swift in 3 mixes. Multiple Adele songs. I have been getting something from Who’s next and On Every Street every day now. Not sure if Harmon Kardan taking over has something to do with any of why recommendation system is just not the way it used to be. There used to be a theme in the mixes that’s not there anymore - just some random compilation of repetitions for me. Olof Dreijer still repeats.

I could just shuffle 10 playlists and get same result - same tracks played in random order in different sets.

If there is no plan to fix this bug, please cancel my subscription and refund the amount since the day this bug was reported or extend the subscription by as long as it takes to fix the bug. I think that’s only fair since Roon has acknowledged its a bug (after a lot of time wasted on VLAN/DNS investigation) with no planned fix. I’ll just subscribe to Spotify or Tidal as second source to discover music in mean time.

We completely understand how frustrating this issue must be; a key part of the software isn’t working the way it should, and we genuinely empathize with that.

That said, as we’ve mentioned a few times already, we’ll be sure to update you here as soon as there’s any new information from our development team. Even if this thread gets closed in the meantime, we’ll reopen it to share any progress directly with you.

We want to be upfront: this is likely to be a slow-moving issue. There’s an internal ticket open, but we still don’t have a timeline we can share.

So why couldn’t Roon suspend my subscription until the bug is fixed and restart it then? It’s really of minimal use to me right now with almost all of the key features for me broken.

My reply to that message that was initially posted here got deleted along with the pictures of a daily mix with 10 songs where 6 were from 3 albums (and those albums were reused in other mixes) and remaining 4 were from two artists. I will try Qobuz Connect for now which dCS now supports (since yesterday) - and is already looking like an acceptable compromise between dCS Mosaic and roon (for no additional fee).

Is there any update on this? It’s been an issue for quite a while now and I have not seen any improvement. Can you update us on the status please?

I continue to get the same 6 recycled daily playlists over and over. Have you considered offering 3 daily playlists that are really good instead of 6 that are so old and so tired.

As a reminder, this thread specifically addresses stale data in two widgets: Homepage → Collaborators and Homepage → Performing the Music Of.

If you’re experiencing issues with empty widgets or stale recommendations elsewhere in Roon, please raise a dedicated technical support thread.

For those who are stuck with the same Collaborators and/or Performing the Music Of recommendations, please try the following steps:

  1. Take note of the content in the two problem widgets and close out of RoonServer fully
  2. Use these steps to navigate to your RoonServer folder (the Database Location).
  3. Delete the folder called RoonServer\Cache\httpcache_2.db
  4. Restart RoonServer

Please watch the two affected widgets carefully for several days after taking this step. Let us know if you begin to see new recommendations appear.

I did this three days ago and it did not help. I still have the same old and stale data in ‘Collaborators and Homepage’, ‘Performing the Music Of’ and ‘Daily Mixes’. This has been broken for a long time and it really reduces the usefulness of the Roon. It has finally reduced it to the point where it is time to start to consider at alternatives.

Tried it several days ago and still always the same names in those 2 widgets

Can you provide any update on when these issues will be addressed?

My subscription renews in a few weeks and if these issues are going to continue, I’d rather not renew.

I know you said this would not be fixed quickly but this is getting ridiculous. This has been broken since May of 2025.
